Students of JLU School of Media & Communication interacted with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson and Director of ONGC Limited Dr. Sambit Patra during a special session on National Security Human Rights and Role of Media. This initiative was taken by the Journalism Club of School of Media and Communication for journalism students to get hands-on experience of the real world situations.
Industry visit to Dainik Jagran27 Sep 2017
An industry visit to Dainik Jagran was organised by the JLU School of Media & Communication for BAJMC III and MAJMC I students. The students gained practical knowledge from a variety industry experts about the print media and were exposed to the various technical processes at Dainik Jagran.

JLU School of Media & Communication recently signed an MOU with UAL: University of the Arts London to run degree programs, faculty exchange and student exchange. As part of the agreement our student Tanya Goya, studying in BA (Journalism and Mass Communication) went on a 3 week exchange program to do "Public Relations & Advertising".

Ugyen Phuntsho Rabgay, an international student of BAJMC III of JLU School of Media and Communication was invited to 15th Dhaka International Film Festival recently and was also one of the key participants to 'Dhaka Cine Workshop' which brings and give a platform to all the young and budding filmmakers from different countries to come together and learn about the different cinemas.

Students of Jagran Lakecity University's School of Media and Communication got the opportunity to visit the Tenth World Hindi Conference (@विश्व हिंदी सम्मेलन) which was held in Bhopal from 10th – 12th September 2015 under the theme "हिंदी जगत- विस्तार और संभावनाए" Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the conference was held in the state after 32 years and attracted scholars, experts and students from 39 countries including India which included the students and faculty of JLU Bhopal as well.

On September 11, 2015, as a part of lecture series "Ignited Minds", Jagran Lakecity University's School of Media & Communication organized 'Face to Face with a Poet'; an interactive session with a young poet and writer Devanshi Khetarpal.Devanshi has a fairly impressive body of publications at a tender age of 16. Her book titled 'Welcome to Hilltop High' ublished by Indra Publishing in 2012 was followed by poetry collection, Co:ma,to'se by Partridge in 2014.

Jagran Lakecity University celebrated World Photography Day 2015 by embracing students' love for photography. Photographs from JLU Master Clicks, an Intra University Photography competition were displayed in an exhibition for everyone to appreciate and get inspired. Jagran Lakecity University's School of Media and Communication organised a special motivational lecture under Igniting Minds Lecture Series by Mrs Jaya Arya (a Broadcaster, Trainer, Coordinator and a social worker). She spoke on "Goal setting and how to achieve it". She identified a multistep strategy to identify and achieve goal towards success. Mrs. Arya stressed on the need to 1) Set a specific, realistic goal, and write it down. 2) Look for ways one can break a long-term goal into short-term, smaller goals.

School of Media & Communication organized a workshop on Clay Modeling where Mr. Mangesh Karandikar from University of Mumbai shared his skills on clay modeling. He guided the students and faculties on maintaining a good consistency of the clay using water and molding the mud to form shapes.

The domains like basic communication skills, knowing the art of defending oneself in an interview, making a job specific resume and learning the ways of projecting oneself as an applicant were dealt in the mock interview by the faculties.

A New York based writer/director/filmmaker, Paul Knox visited Jagran Lakecity University and interacted with students from School of Media and Communication. He is a master in teaching screenwriting.Mr. Knox believes that today, Indian Cinema aims at making a blockbuster where we review a film in terms of the money collection but he feels sad when he sees people walking out of the theater wondering there was no good story in the entire movie and it was such a waste of time and money.
