One day International conference on "Make In India: New Technologies, New Paradigms" was organized by School of Engineering & Technology (SOET), Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal, India on Thursday, 28th January 2016. The main focus of this conference is on the Government's new initiative "Make In India".

Speaking on the occasion, Er. Brain O' Donnell CEO, Centre for Pavement Excellence, Asia Pacific, Australia said "The purpose behind setting up the Research Centre for Asia pacific is to achieve the objectives of this initiative. The major challenge today is of improving/providing world class infrastructure to the prospective investors manufacturing in India in the form of transportation facilities especially road transport.

Later in the inaugural session, Minister for Higher Education, Technical Education and Skill Development, Honorable, Shri. Uma Shankar Gupta, in his speech emphasized on research and development and said it is the future of India. He further added this conference also provide the premier core, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary platform for researchers, and academicians to present and discuss the most recent innovations in technology, trends, and concerns, practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted in the field of Engineering & Technology. He louded the effort of JLU to take lead in initiating Prime Minister's Campaign "Make in India" and applauded Jagran Lakecity University adjudged as the 'University of the year' and a 'Global league institution'.

Shri Harimohan Gupta, Hon'ble Chancellor, JLU underlined significance of the conference and thanked Mr. Brian O Donnel and Mr. Jerzy Ordega from CPEAP and RMIT University for having decided to set up the "Research Centre for Asia pacific" at Bhopal in the very heart of India at Jagran lakecity university. He said "I am sure it will open new vistas of opportunities and employment generation for our youth. Investment and new technologies will be a spring board for making Madhya Pradesh and India one of the most progressive and advanced state and country in the world" An MOU was signed between Shri Harimohan Gupta, Chancellor, JLU and Mr. Brain O' Donnell, CEO, Centre for Pavement Excellence, Asia Pacific, Australia for setting up of Asia Pacific Research Centre For Pavement Excellence in Jagran Lakecity University at Bhopal.

The conference focus was on how to prepare and reform our education system and sector to equip the researchers and students to contribute for the grand success of this initiative. It is necessary to boost up the education system, particularly the engineering stream for this same. In the plenary sessions, the Indian and foreign experts deliberated on issues related to creation of transformative technical educational experience, building entrepreneurial ecosystem in the campuses, convergence of technologies and manufacturing and so on. Over 200 academicians, Scientists and Researchers from across the globe including 10 experts from various countries participated in this conference.
