The 3rd Inter-University JLU Football League under the aegis of Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission concluded at Jagran Lakecity University's Student Enrichment Hub today. In an intense match held at the football ground here, the hosts - Jagran Lakecity University beat the defending champions - ITM-University, Gwalior by 3-0. Earlier in the league, JLU beat AISECT University by 6-0 in the semi-finals to reach the finals. In the second semi-final between ITM University and LNCT Medical College, ITM beat the opponents by 4-0 to reach the finals. AISECT University were the 2nd Runner-Up in the tournament. 8 private universities from across Madhya Pradesh participated in the event. Spanned across 4 days, the tournament saw some serious action on the ground while the 8 teams played to clinch the title.

The league kick started on 02nd Feb with league matches between the teams in two groups. The Chief Guest during the opening ceremony Mr. G.K. Shrivastav, President - Madhya Pradesh Football Association and Guest of Honor, Mr. Ashok Dhyanchand, Ex-Olympian declared the tournament open and wished the players luck."

Mr. Naushad Moosa, Head Coach, Pune Football Club and the guest for the closing ceremony encouraged the students to fight their fears to overcome them and reach new heights. Mr. Moosa congratulated the Winning, 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up teams on their achievements. Team JLU swept four other awards in the tournament wherein Aman Solanki, Hasan Rizvi, Imran Idresi and Adwitya Raj Sharma were awarded Best Defender, Player of the Tournament, Golden Boot and Best Goal Keeper respectively. Vivek Kumar of ITM University, Gwalior won the Best Striker award. In a first in the 3 seasons of the tournament, a Fair Play award was given to Jaypee University of Engineering & technology, Guna for the discipline showed by the team, both on & off the ground.

The dignitaries from Jagran Lakecity University Mr. Hari Mohan Gupta, Chancellor; Mr. Abhishek Mohan Gupta, CEO; Prof. (Dr.) Anoop Swarup, Vice- Chancellor; Prof. (Dr.) C.A. Gurudath, Dean - Academics and Dr. Vivek Khare, Dean - Student Welfare were present during the award ceremony and congratulated the teams for their participation.
