With the objective of creating environmental awareness and promoting conservation education, our student- teachers visited Regional Museum of Natural History, Shahpura, which was developed in 1997, the second of its kind in India.

Dr. Yasmin Ghani Khan, Principal, School of Education was invited as a resource person to take 2 sessions in the UGC sponsored workshop organized by Department of Psychology, Sarojini Naidu Govt. Girls PG College, Bhopal on 26th September 2017. She delivered a lecture on 'Item Writing and Item Selection' and then involved the future psychologists in framing items for various data collection tools and then critiquing them for further modification

First Field Trip to Regional Science Centre, Bhopal

Orientation Programme for New Batch

JLU School of Education welcomed the new batch of B.Ed. in the Orientation Programme on 2nd August 2017. Dr. Yasmin Ghani Khan, Principal School of Education briefed the newly admitted student-teachers about the B.Ed Course and Curriculum. Dr. Neeti Rathore gave a brief insight regarding the assessment criteria. She also made them aware about the ERP services as a learning resource offered by the University.

Open House Session

Dr. Yasmin Ghani Khan, Principal and Ms. Shubhangi Khambayat, Lecturer, School of Education attended an Open House Session conducted by National Council for Teacher Education in Delhi on 18th July 2017. The session was conducted by Dr. A. Santhosh Mathew, Chairperson, NCTE. NCTE has shouldered the responsibility of monitoring the functioning of the recognised Teacher Education Institutes to the Quality Council of India.

Orientation Workshop for Co-operating teachers

The Pre-Internship Orientation Workshop for Co-operating teachers was organized at Gurudev Shiksha Kendra Neelbad on 15th July 2017. Dr. Yasmin Ghani Khan , Principal SOED, gave a brief description about organization, conduction and observation of school induction for student teachers. The workshop was attended by Ms. Megha Muktibodh, Principal GSK and all co-operating teachers of GSK Neelbad.

School Attachment Program

The student- Teachers of JLU School of Education successfully completed the fourth round of School Attachment program at Gurudev Shiksha Kendra, DPS Neelbad where they observed the commencement of the classes in the new session. They also observed teachers briefing the class about the new syllabus, new books and activities scheduled for the session. The student -teachers observed teachers preparing holiday homework for summer vacation. They also had a interactive session with the students.

Expert Lecture on the practical aspect of performance based assessment

JLU school of Education conducted an expert lecture on the practical aspect of performance based assessment on 18th march 2017. The guest speaker was Dr. Anil Kumar, Head of Vocational Education Department NITTTR Bhopal. He enlightened the students with all the minute details of Assessment Techniques. He also gave a brief idea about Rubrics for assessment. Overall it was a great learning Experience for the student teachers.

Expert Lecture on Process Skills

JLU school of Education conducted an expert lecture on Process Skills on 4th march 2017. The guest speaker was Dr. Ramakar Raizada retd. Head and Professor, Regional Institute of Education. He enlightened the students with Core Teaching Skills required in teaching. It was a great learning experience.

School Attachment program at DPS Kolar

The student- Teachers of JLU School of Education successfully completed the School Attachment program at DPS Kolar where they observed revision classes and attended the Republic Day celebrations and at DPS Neelbad where they observed preparation and conduction of examinations.It was a great experiential learning session for the student- teachers.

Satpura Tiger Reserve

Student- teachers of JLU School of Education attended a camp organised by Regional Museum for Natural History Shahpura at Satpura Tiger Reserve which is 55 km from National Highway hoshangabad where they explored locations with lots of wild animals like Tigers, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Crocodile etc and studied nature

Workshop for Trainee Teachers on Low Cost Teaching Aids

The Student- Teachers of Jagran Lakecity University' School of Education attended a two day workshop for Trainee Teachers on Low Cost Teaching Aids on 15th - 16th December 2016 for propagation of Education through preparation of suitable low cost teaching aids organised by Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH) Bhopal. The students learnt innovative methods for preparation of low cost teaching aids and their implementation in classroom teaching.

Filed Trip to Bheembethka

Jagran Lakecity University's School of Education conducted a field trip to Bheembethka on the theme Organizing picnics for children on 19th November 2016. student teachers were guided about the preparations and the prerequisites of conducting a picnic for school children. On the visit they were explained the historical, scientific and mathematical significance of the heritage site.Making a Joy trip a scholastic experience was the learning outcome for the would be teachers from this activity.

Jagran Lakecity University's School of Education conducted a field trip to Regional Museum of Natural History on 5th November 2016. The theme was Organizing field trips. The student teachers planned the trip and defined the objectives of learning of organizing a field trip. The museum caters to studying the evolution of life and conservation of biodiversity which is a burning issue in today's context.

Igniting Mind Lecture Series 2016 - Lecture 10

Jagran Lakecity University's School of Education conducted its first Ignited Mind Lecture by Dr. Sanjay Pedangale, RIE Bhopal on "Educational Blogs and UNESCO TLM". It was a practical learning session for the student-teachers where they learned how to create their own blog and also how to use Information and Communication Technology for developing Teaching learning Material.The student- teachers also learnt about Creative commons. Overall it was an informative experience for the student-teachers.

Poster Making Competition

Jagran Lakecity University's School of Education conducted a poster making competition on the occasion of "International Day for the Girl Child" on 10th october 2016. This day is observed to increase the awareness of many issues and inequalities faced by girls around the world. It was an inter school event where students exhibited their vision about the theme "WO PADEGI WO UDEGI". The Exhibition was judged by Mr. Diwakar Shukla, Director SOMC, Chief Librarian Mrs. Bharti Banerjee and Dr. Padmapriya, Head BMS programme. The winning poster was created by Apurvi Garg from SOM depicting empowerment through education. Rishab Garg from SOET came in second place for his beautiful ideology. Shweta Yadav from SoEd and Namgay Dorgi from SOL were the joint winners for the third place.

Brain Storming Session

The student-teachers of School of Education participated in Brain storming session organised by the School of law, JLU on 5th oct' 2016. The aim of the session was to provide intensive training sessions to the participants and polish their behavioral and interpersonal skills so as to accelerate their growth in the profession.The session included subject-specific technical sessions in which trained professionals from across the country interacted with the participants regarding different aspects and attributes of personality development and professional growth.

Educational visit to Aasra Old Age Home

Jagran Lakecity University's School of Education conducted a field trip on 30th September to Aasra old age home,Chunabhatti, run by Lions Club Bhopal where students interacted with disowned elders and came to know that most of them had families who either did not have time or place in their homes and heart for them. The post visit discussion revealed that this visit did sensitize the student-teachers to inclusively value elders in their routine teaching in future.

Jagran Lake city University's School of Education conducted an educational visit to Gurudev Shiksha Kendra, DPS Neelbad on the occasion of Hindi Diwas on 14th Sept. 2016. A debate competition was organised by GSK on 'aadarshon pe chalna kathin hai'. Our Student-teachers observed and reported conduction of debates and interacted with the students.

Educational visit to the RSC, Bhopal

An educational visit to the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal was organized on 27th August 2016 for the Scholars of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme by the School of Education, JLU, Bhopal. The visit was part of the process of learning through exploration as being advocated by the School under the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation Programme. It provided a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into the world of science through experiments, models and simulations ranging across the various fields of science both physical and biological.
