This course aims to capacitate the students to be able to understand the literatures belonging to different ages and genres and to be able to analyze and interpret the same. An in depth study of the different authors, will make the students explore and enhance and stretch their horizons pertaining to language and literature. This course will also develop their potential to make sound decisions about career options.

The skills you gain through studying an English Literature degree are marketable in most career areas. A postgraduate degree in English Literature would lead to the following career paths:
Eligibility Criteria: Admission to a postgraduate degree at School of Humanities and Arts requires a minimum of 50% in an undergraduate degree or an equivalent qualification in any discipline from an institute affiliated to a university or any university recognized by UGC. Candidates in the final year of their respective undergraduate programme are also eligible to apply for admission. Their admission will be subject to their qualifying the exam with the required marks. Applicants for the PG course will have to appear for a Personal Interview (PI) round. The selection of candidates will be made based on their academic merit and performance in the PI round.
