Jagran Lakecity University is known to create platforms for exciting inter-college events. Following the tradition, JLU School of Commerce & Economics and Banking & Finance organized the 'Big Fight', an inter-college debate competition on 4th April 2017 where students from AISECT, IPER, IHM, Bansal College, Institute for Excellence in Higher Education, Nutan College, ICM etc. participated with great zeal and enthusiastically contributed on the topic "GST - Game Changer or Game Spoiler"

The judges for the event, Prof. Dr. H.S. Yadav, Senior Academician, Dr. Shalini Sinha (Dean Academics, Professor Dept of Management TIT), were deeply engrossed in the ideas of the students. They adjudged Saniya Zia of Jagran Lakecity University as the winner 'For the motion'; Mohita Joshi of Nutan College as winner for 'Against the motion' whereas in the Juliana Malkoti of Nutan College the 1st runner up for 'For the motion' and Sakshi Bhateja of IPER college for 'Against the motion'. Mohd. Zeeshan of IHM stood 2nd Runner-up in 'For the motion' category and Antareksh Tiwari of Jagran Lakecity University for 'Against the motion'.

Prof. Dr H S Yadav enlightened the audience with his knowledge on goods and services tax and also critically commented on the performance of the participants. Dr. Anoop Swarup, Vice-Chancellor, Jagran Lakecity University related the topic to facts and stats of economy of the country. Dr. Vivek Khare, Dean –Jagran Lakecity University and Dr. Vinay Joshi Chandniwala, Head – JLU School of Commerce and Economics along with other dignitaries were present during the event.
