Chef Imtiaz Qureshi was born on 2 February 1931 in a family of chefs in Lucknow in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He started his culinary career with his uncle before joining Krishna Caterers, a catering company that served the Indian Army during the Sino-Indian War of 1962. After working at a few local restaurants, he joined ITC Hotels in 1979 and served the hospitality chain at several of their locations, such as Clark Hotel, Lucknow, and Maurya Sheraton, Delhi before becoming the master chef of the group. He is single handedly responsible for the revival of Dum Pukht cooking to the world & creating Bukhara as a brand for ITC Hotels.
Countless people around India and the world have experienced the magic of Chef Qureshi’s inimitable right hand for decades. There are many more of his vintage and younger – including an enormously talented new generation of innovative and articulate Indian chefs.
The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honor, the Padamshree, in 2016, for his contributions to culinary art, thus making him the first ever chef to receive the honor.
Indeed his contribution to the culinary, hospitality and cultural bonding of nation through food has inspired, hope and creativity in areas of culinary, hospitality and tourism. Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal presents this citation having unanimously agreed to confer the Honoris Causa (Honorary) Degree of Doctorate of Arts upon Shri Bibek Debroy, India’s leading Economist & Author.
Shri Bibek Debroy was born on 25th January, 1955 in Shillong, Meghalaya in a well Educated Family. He has been appointed as the Chairman of the newly set-up “Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM).” When the present Govt. established the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) in January, 2015, Mr. Debroy was appointed a member of NITI Aayog. He has also been the head of the panel for restructuring of Indian Railways. Shri Debroy brought out a final report seeking to appoint an independent regulator, also doing away with the practice of separate Rail Budget.
Shri Bibek Debroy’s past positions include the Director of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies, Consultant to the Deptt. Of Economic Affairs of Finance Ministry, Secretary General of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and several other prestigious posts. In the past, Shri Debroy has taught at Presidency College, Calcutta, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and the National Council of Applied Economic Research.
Shri Debroy has authored a ten-volume English translation of The Mahabharata. He has also translated the Bhagavat Gita from Sanskrit to English in 2006 and three volumes of Valmiki Ramayana, published in 2017. He was awarded Padma Shri in 2015. He was awarded D. Litt. (Honoris Causa) by KIIT University in 2015 and D. Phil (Honoris Causa) by Amity University in 2016. He was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by US- India Business Summit in 2016.

This award is conferred upon Professor (Dr.) N. R. Madhava Menon for his outstanding contribution in the development of Legal Education, reforms and professional development. He has been the best teacher, innovator, administrator and a role model to many across the world.
Professor (Dr.) N. R. Madhava Menon was born in 1935. He pursued his education (B.Sc. and B.L.) from Kerala University, Aligarh Muslim University (LL.M. and PhD) and Punjab University (M.A.). He started his career as an Advocate at Kerala High Court in 1956. Dr. Menon left his active legal practice and joined the faculty of Aligarh Muslim University in 1960, where he continued his teaching and research till 1965. He joined Delhi University in 1965, and became the Professor and Head of the Campus Law Centre. During this period he served on deputation as Principal of Government Law College, Pondicherry and Secretary of the Bar Council of India Trust.
Pioneering in Legal Education Reforms and Professional Development for better legal services, Dr. Menon set up the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in 1986 at Bangalore, invited by the Bar Council of India and initiated a new era in Legal Education through ithe Five Year integrated LL.B. programme. He served NLSIU as its founding Vice Chancellor for 12 years. On invitation of West Bengal Government, he established National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS) at Kolkata and served as its Vice Chancellor from 1998-2003. The Supreme Court of India sought his services to set up the National Judicial Academy (NJA) at Bhopal. Prof. Menon served NJA as its Founder Director till 2006 and took retirement from regular employment.
The government of India appointed him as a member of the Commission on Centre - State Relations (2006-2010). He served as the Chairman of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata and of the Center for Development Studies, Trivandrum. He chaired the government of India committee to draft a National Policy on Criminal Justice and Committee on equal opportunity Commission. He was also a member of the committee on Criminal Justice Reforms and the committee on restructuring of Higher Education in India. He served the Law Commission of India for two times as its member.
Prof. Menon has many Honours and recognitions into his credit. To mention few, Vocational Excellence Award 1992 by Rotary Club of Bangalore, The Plaque of Honour bestowed by Bar Council of India for his unique contribution to the legal profession in 1992, Best Law Teacher Award by the Society of Indian Law Firms 2009, National Education Leadership Award by ET- NOW Group 2013, Lifetime achievement Award by Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry 2014. As a circlet to his crown of awards, government of India conferred upon him Padmashree in 2003.
Dr. Menon authored over a dozen of books on legal education, legal profession, judicial training and administration of justice. The book “Turning Point” is dedicated to the illustrious career of his life and contribution to the Legal Field. Presently, Prof. Menon holds the Chair on Continuing Legal Education at NLSIU, Bangalore and Honorary Director of M.K. Nambiar Academy for Continuing Legal Education, Kochi. He is the Chairman of the Menon Institute of Legal Advocacy Training (MILAT), an educational charity based in Trivandrum. He is also the Chancellor of Guru Ghasidas Central University, Chhattisgarh and National University of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi.

This award is conferred upon Prof. (Dr.) Glenn Durland Paige in recognition with his invaluable contribution towards Humanities, Literature and Social service .
Prof. (Dr.) Glenn Durland Paige was born on June 28, 1929, in Brockton, Massachusetts, in the northeastern part of the United States known as New England. He grew up in Rochester, New Hampshire, with summers in Provincetown, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Army during 1948-52. He is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy (1947), Princeton University (A.B., politics, 1955), Harvard University (A.M., East Asian regional studies, 1957) and Northwestern University (PhD political science, 1959). After teaching at Seoul National University (1959-61), and Princeton University (1961-67), he taught at the University of Hawaii (1967-92). He is living in Honolulu since 1967 and has traveled more than thirty countries.
Prof. (Dr.) Glenn D. Paige is the founder and past Chair of the Center for Global Nonkilling. He is a Korean War veteran. His contribution to the field of Literature and Research is noteworthy. His book “Nonkilling Global Political Science” (2002; 3rd ed. 2009) has been translated into 24 world languages. He has also authored “The Scientific Study of Political Leadership” (1977) and is the co-editor of Nonkilling Korea: Six Culture Exploration (2012).
Prof. Glenn D. Paige is a great leader, a model teacher, original thinker, an outstanding activist and above all a fine human being. He is instrumental for the establishment of the Centre for Global Nonkilling at Honolulu in Hawaii.

Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal presents this citation having unanimously agreed to confer the Honoris Causa Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters ( Humanities and Arts) upon Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, a Buddhist philosopher, peacebuilder, educator, author , poet and founder of a number of cultural, educational and peace research institutions around the world.
This award is being made to Dr. Daisaku Ikeda in recognition of his untiring pursuits of peace and love for humanity. He is the third President of the Soka Gakkai lay Buddhist organization and the founding President of the Soka Gakkai International (SGI), which promotes a philosophy of character development and social engagement for peace.
Dr. Daisaku Ikeda was born in Tokyo, Japan, on January 2, 1928 to family of seaweed farmers. His early life was full of struggles. The destruction he witnessed as a teenager during World War II motivated him to work for peace by eradicating the fundamental causes of human conflict. In 1947, at the age of 19, he met his mentor and spiritual guide Josei Toda who was an educator and leader of the Soka Gakkai lay Buddhist society. The central tenet of Ikeda's thought is the fundamental sanctity of life, a value which Ikeda sees as the key to lasting peace and human happiness.
As an advocate of peace he has emphasized in his Peace Proposal 2015 on expansion of friendship through dialogue across differences in order to build a world of coexistence. According to him a self-directed transformation within the individual can lead to social transformation. This idea is expressed in his famous work, The Human Revolution. As a supporter of value based education he founded the Soka (value- creation) schools based on the principle of nurturing each student's unique creative potential and cultivating an ethic of peace, social contribution and global consciousness.
His extensive publications promote peace and international understanding. He has published his ideas on various subjects in the form of dialogues, peace proposals, philosophical writings, essays, addresses, poetry, novels and children’s literature. His numerous works have been translated and published in more than forty languages.
His ceaseless efforts have won him recognition in the form of innumerable honors and awards like Humanitarian Award, United Nations Peace Award, A. S. Pushkin Gold Medal, Global Excellence Award, Tagore Peace Award, Simon Wiesenthal Center International Tolerance Award and many other awards from countries and institutions around the world. He has been recognized for his poetry by gaining the Kenya Oral Literature Association Award and the Poet Laureate Award of the Association of World Poets.
He holds honorary doctorates from over fifty universities and is an honorary citizen of more than seven hundred and forty cities, states and local governments around the world worldwide in addition to this he is having honorary professorships in more than forty universities.

Champion of Indian cartooning and visual Arts, the world is his canvas. As a creative story teller and illustrator, he has produced an irresistible blend of visual pieces, graphics & illustrations that have served cartoon art and political satire for nearly 30 years, which greatly merits recognition by the University. Before coming to Jagran Lakecity University, Neelabh received numerous honors at national & International level, as the Times of India’s National Art and Illustration Editor, where he served for almost 25 years and currently serves as the National Creative Director at Reliance Industries Ltd.
Mr.Neelabh Banerjee has been recognized as India’s pre-eminent cartoonist who brings great courage, insight and integrity to national discourse on current affairs and political satire. Signing as @NeelabhToons, his cartoons and animation series named Breaking Toons are now seen featuring in short animations. Here, he is a bird who flies into newsy situations where no other media person can! These works appear on CNN-IBN, IBN7 and ETV channels and on numerous other global platforms.
Shri Neelabh Banerjee was born on 28th August 1963 in Lucknow in a family of distinguished illustrators and famed cartoonists. Neelabh learned at an early age the intricacies of global politics, satire and funny side of political discourse, while retaining the sensitivity and objectiveness of news and opinion. From comic strip called 'Gardhab Das', which he created in his teens to the popular comic strip Dubyaman to Breaking Toons, Neelabh’s creativity and excellence in visual communication has opened windows to new levels of storytelling and media understanding not only in India but worldwide.
Neelabh represented India in the Asian cartoon exhibition 2000 in Tokyo, Japan where he studied the Manga style of cartoon art and brought the influence back to India. In 2005 he was invited to be India representative on Nice Tourism Board, France. The State Department of United States of America recognized his contributions by inviting him to be their visitor of the year in 2010. Walt Disney Company & Disney imagineers, in 2013, collaborated with Neelabh, by seeking his advice and ideas for their forthcoming films and animations for the global audiences. Neelabh was responsible for designing and providing artwork for the Times of India group’s 175th year commemoration stamp, released by the President of India Honorable Shri Pranab Mukherjee. He was again honoured in 2014 when the Times of India group brought out a collection of TOI cartoons right from 1952 onwards in form of a book- “Jest in Time”. Neelabh’s 30 years long journey as a print cartoonist is captured in that.
